Regathering

Jan 03, 2024 | alleyCat Online, Reflections,

My word for the month is regather, my personal focus–regather attention. Often, as I sit to meditate or breathe, I visualize my grandmother’s basket of unruly yarn and see her skilled hands roll it into a neat, centered orb. Not tightly wound, yet gathered and cohesive. This practice allows me to visualize my fractured attention as regathered–coherent and whole.

Likewise, lately, I have been drawn to quiet, grounded practices that mirror this visual. Sensing, breathing, and connected to the ground, I find nourishment, integration, and a deeper connection to my center: physically unwound, yet with attention gathered, like my grandmother’s yarn.

My winter practice offerings highlight regathering through contemplative, grounded practices. In addition to my regular weekday Kripalu and Deep Stretch offerings, the January Kripalu Series, Weekend Unwind, and The Yoga Sanctuary Hour allow us to move mindfully, breathe, and gather ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally.

If you also seek integration, nurturing gentle movement, and a shared container for mindful breath-based yoga, join me for practice. You are welcome, just as you are.

See you in practice soon.

-Susan
