4 Week Series

You are communicating with your nervous system with every breath you take. A long, deep breath triggers relaxation while short, shallow breaths put you on alert. Yoga skillfully uses this connection between the breath and the body through Pranayama, the art of breath control. One of the core practices of Yoga, Pranayama (breathwork) leads to deeper states of focus and meditation. In this class series, learn to incorporate pranayama into your regular yoga practice and explore how attention to the breath, when used with yoga postures, creates transformation.

This is an intermediate practice. It is appropriate for you if you can do two Sun Salutations in coordination with your breath.

Luna discovered yoga over 15 years ago. Having always enjoyed athletics she was impressed with the strength, flexibility and stamina that yoga develops, however, she was most delighted by the serenity she felt after practicing. In order to better understand how to intentionally cultivate this inner peace, Luna entered the Life of a Yogi Teacher Training with Sri Dharma Mittra. Luna teaches Dharma yoga which blends a strong physical practice with pranayama, relaxation and meditation to bring about self-transformation. Her classes emphasize healthy form, improved focus and a joy of movement.
